Serves 5 Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lb pork tenderloin
- 2 tsp star anise
- 3 tbs brown sugar
- 3 tbs balsamic vinegar
- 4 oz soy sauce
- 4 oz water

- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1-1/2 tbs shallots, minced
- 2 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 2 oz Pernod (or anise-flavored
liqueur)

Directions
Place
water, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Pernod, star anise, celery, shallots and garlic in
sauce pot.
Bring to
boil and reduce to simmer. Cook for 1/2 hour; let cool. Strain and pour over pork
tenderloin and marinate overnight.
Pre-heat
grill, cook pork, and finish in oven if necessary at
350 degrees F.
Slice on
slight bias, fan on plate, and coat with 2 tbs of marinade. (Heat marinade on stove
first.)
